SUO Challenge #58, CAS Christmas Card – Our Top 3!

From all the entries that we had this week, it looks like "Clean and Simple" – or CAS – is a well-liked way to make greeting cards!  If you're reading this and didn't get a chance to look at all the entries, I'm sure if you did you'd find something absolutely wonderful on which to base one of your own projects.  I know I did!

As always, we were able to designate three of the entries as our "Top 3."  We had a 4-way tie for the 3rd spot this time (which we broke, of course), and more than half of your entries got at least one vote.  So you certainly should know that we love your projects!  We also had some new entrants, and we'd like to extend a special, "Welcome," to you all.  Thanks for joining us!

And now for this challenge's Top 3. Click on the pictures to go to their blogs.

Jenn Picard's CardJenn Picard.    OK – the consensus of the team is that the little bird looking out at us along with Rudolph (love the red nose!)  is just too cute.  And the way the punched wreath coordinates with the prints on the Designer Paper makes it seem as if this set was made for it.

Vicki Burdick. We think the way Vicki used this stamp set is just darling,  The cut out holly leaves are made especially cute with the pearls colored with a red marker.  Love how she balanced the design with the alternating holly leaves, too.

Rosario Corral.  The blue and white color combo in this card really make the whole design "pop."  The Illuminate Glimmer on the texturized oval is a sparkling final touch..

SUO Challenge #46 – Our Top 3!

First of all, I and all the members of the SUO Challenges Design Team would like to express a delighted, "Thank You!" to our first ever Guest Designers!  It has been wonderful having them as members of our team, and they participated throughout the entire course of the last challenge, even providing their input to the voting for this week's Top 3!  We can hardly wait to do this again, probably in late Fall 2012.  All of our entrants are eligible to be invited to be Guest Designers, with those who have contributed the most to the challenges given top priority.

Speaking of "top," here are our Bright Summer Days Challenge Top 3:

April Jackson. This card certainly shows off the "Bright Summer Days" theme with the sunshine.  And what a delightful way of displaying the tree from the "Season of Friendship" stamp set.  Those bright flowers seem to love the sun shining down on them and that little bird reminded one of our Design Team members of the mockingbird singing outside her window – such a happy little fellow!

Patty Corriere.  What a beautifully designed and executed card!  All of the card's elements go together so well – the colors, the layout and the little piece of ribbon.  And we definitely wanted to taste those cherries – they certainly look good enough to eat!

Diane Vander Galien.  Diane did a fab job of showing off one of Stampin' Up!'s newest Hostess Sets and some of its newest colors and papers with this lovely window card.  What makes this card especially easy on the eyes is the beautiful balance of all the elements that make it up.

SUO Challenge #41 – Our Top 3!

Oh, my!  Another week where over half of the challenge entries received Top 3 votes from our Design Team!  The change of seasons brings out the best in all of us, it seems!  Thank you all for being so creative AND sharing your creations with us at the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge!

So, a drum roll, please, for those who received the most votes for this week's Top 3!

Tonya Denton.  I think that one team member's response to this card says it all:  "That lily rocks!"  I'm sure that anyone that looks at this card will wonder why they can't sniff the scent of the Stargazer Lily, it's so realistic.  What a beautiful job you did on this card, Tonya!

Paula Sievers.  Last week's challenge was to "Think Spring (or Autumn)" because many of our readers and contributors are from the southern hemisphere.  Paula is in Australia, and she created this lovely card to welcome Autumn.  I particularly like how Paula made that lovely background with squares of Cajun Craze and More Mustard, and how well the colors in the "Lovely as a Tree" stamp make that central layer just pop off the background!

Patty Gorka.  There are so many little details in this card that just make it a joy to look at!  The rows of piercings, the way that the cherry blossoms are colored, the whole color combination – these all combine to make a very beautiful card!

Thank you ALL for being a part of the SUO Challenge!

SUO Challenge 39 – Our Top Three

Ladies, this is getting harder and harder to do!  All of us on the Design Team were overwhelmed with all the fantastic entries for our Birthday Card challenge; this was a tough one.  One of our members even asked if we couldn't do a Top 5 this time around!  Every single one of you who entered our challenge last time definitely had a winner of a card!

But we did finally figure out our Top 3 for this challenge (and I had to use our tie-breaker system to get there, too!).  So with a virtual drum roll, please welcome the SUO Challenge Top 3 Birthday Cards! (Click on the pictures to go to the individual websites.)

Paula Sievers' gorgeous, beautifully embossed and colored roses from the Fifth Avenue Floral collection are stunning with the special fold of this birthday card – for someone very special, we're sure!  Be sure to look at Paula's website to see more about the fun fold of this card!

Catherine Pooler created a fabulous "shabby chic" card with a flair that had us all looking at the details and wondering how we could do that, too!  Not to worry – check out Catherine's website for a  video on how to make this very card!!

Patty Gorka (aka LaLatty) gave us another card with all kinds of details that, put together, make a simple yet beautiful layout.  We especially like that center cupcake with the crimped "liner" and the little button all mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals to make it stand out from the rest.
