SUO Challenge #125, The Cutting Edge!

With Stampin’ Up!’s newest catalog in full swing, many of us are inspired to try something different to show off our new “stuff.” We at SUO Challenges think that one way to draw attention to our projects is to create something other than just a standard, rectangular card with four 90° corners and four straight sides.

For this challenge, create a project, using Stampin’ Up! products only, that features at least one of its cut edges as something other than a straight line.

Need some ideas to get your creativity started?  Then check out our Design Team projects – and have fun with your own project!

To participate in our challenge, make a card  or other paper-crafted project and post a photo of it to your blog or a gallery on the internet.  Then come back here and use our link tool at the bottom of this post to share the photo with us.

PLEASE remember this:  We’re looking for projects posted to the internet AFTER June 22, 2015  This is a NEW challenge!  AND please mention/link to the SUO Challenge Blog in your post!

Of course, your projects must be made with Stampin’ Up! products only.    The products may be those that are in current catalogs, or they may be retired products.  But (as our blog title says) SUO – Stampin’ Up! Only!  This means that products from other papercrafting, rubber stamp, die-making or other companies may not be included in your project or in any other project included in your blog post if Stampin’ Up! sells a like product.  For example, Stampin’ Up! does not sell sewing thread.  So use of sewing thread from another company is just fine.  Stampin’ Up! does sell the Sizzix Big Shot, so use of die-cuts, texture plates or other such products from another company is not fine.  If you have a question, please send an e-mail to our Coordinator, Robin Messenheimer, and she’ll be glad to answer it!

Challenge Dates:  June 23, 2015  (3 am USA Eastern Time) –

July 4, 2015 (6 am USA Eastern Time)

SUO Challenge #123, Sweet Treats!

It's that time of the year for lots of parties!  Besides the usual weddings, showers, and birthdays, there are graduations and holiday barbecues.  Oh, and there are surely Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and Quinceanera celebrations. And more! For this challenge, think about how you'd show off or present a party's treats. Or think about a card you might send with an image of a sweet (think cake?). Your challenge is to make a project – card or other paper crafted project – with sweets as a theme.

Need some ideas to get your creativity started?  Then check out our Design Team projects – and have fun with your own project!

SUO Challenge #120 – Team Colors!

The College Basketball Season just ended (last night!), Major League Baseball has already started, and the NBA and NHL are nearing the end of their seasons. If you've got children or grandchildren in school, there are certainly some kinds of sports underway there, too!  Your challenge this time is to make a greeting card or other project that features the colors of your favorite team – school, community, professional – any kind of team.

Need some ideas to get your creativity started?  Then check out our Design Team projects – and have fun with your own project!

SUO Challenge #119 – Fun Folds!

Most of the cards we all make are usually rectangles or squares folded in half.  Several weeks ago, we challenged you to use a different shape.  Your challenge this time is to make a greeting card that's folded differently than simply in half. We can all hardly wait to see the fun ways you choose to fold your cards!
