SUO Challenge #170 – Things That Fly!

3 / 14 / 173 / 13 / 17

Here we are at a time in March when there’s not really much in the way of seasonal themes or holidays on which to base a fun challenge for our Stampin’ Up! community. So we all put our heads together, looked through the Stampin’ Up! catalogs, and came up with a great theme for March no matter where you live on the planet. We can all look up in the air and see “Things That Fly”! So that’s your challenge this time. Create a greeting card or other paper-crafted project featuring something (or things) that fly.

Here are the projects our Design Team made for this challenge. Click on the photos of their projects to find out more about them. I hope they inspire you to make your own and share them with us! BUT BEFORE YOU SHARE – Please review our guidelines over at the left. If you have any questions, please Contact Us.

SUO Challenge #158 – Thanks and Thanksgiving

9 / 27 / 169 / 27 / 16

Fall is finally here for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere! And in North America, we’re getting close to the time when Canada and the United States celebrate  Thanksgiving.  Many of us send greeting cards or make fun table decorations for this holiday. So a challenge to make a Thanksgiving card or decoration is the first part of this challenge. But for those of you who would rather simply make a card or other project that expresses, “Thanks,” we’d love to see your projects, too. Make any kind of project you’d like, post it online, and link to our link tool at the bottom of this post to post a thumbnail of your project here.

And now here are the projects from the Design Team!

SUO Challenge #154 – Delightful Dies!

8 / 2 / 168 / 1 / 16

While we have seen lots of Stampin’ Up!’s Sizzix dies used both by our Design Team as well as by those entering our challenges, we thought we’d like to see projects that all feature a Stampin’ Up! Sizzix Die. So that’s your challenge for the beginning of August. Any die, any kind of project – just fine, as long as it’s Stampin’ Up!

Check out our Design Team’s projects for some great ideas. We look forward to seeing what you do with this challenge.

To participate in our challenge, make a card or other paper-crafted project, using Stampin’ Up! products only, and post a photo of it to your blog or a gallery on the internet. Then come back here and use our link tool at the bottom of this post to share the photo with us. If you are linking to a blog, please link to the specific post that contains your project.

A reminder – SUO Challenges is a “Sales-Free Zone,” as described in our “What is not allowed” statement down on the left. Submitting a creation for which you are selling a tutorial and for which you won’t freely share a recipe/instructions without requesting a fee is not allowed. We had to remove an entry from our latest challenge for this reason. Those of you who are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators should definitely read the whole statement!

Now to our Design Team!

PLEASE remember this: We’re looking for projects posted to the internet AFTER August 1, 2016. This is a NEW challenge! AND please mention/link to the SUO Challenge Blog in your post! We’d really like it if you’d mention us early in your blog post!

Of course, your projects must be made with Stampin’ Up! products only. The products may be those that are in current catalogs, or they may be retired products. But (as our blog title says) SUO – Stampin’ Up! Only! This means that products from other papercrafting, rubber stamp, die-making or other companies may not be included in your project or in any other project included in your blog post if Stampin’ Up! sells a like product. For example, Stampin’ Up! does not sell sewing thread. So use of sewing thread from another company is just fine. Stampin’ Up! does sell the Sizzix Big Shot, so use of die-cuts, texture plates or other such products from another company is not fine. If you have a question, please send an e-mail to our Coordinator, Robin Messenheimer, and she’ll be glad to answer it!

Challenge Dates: August 2, 2016 (3 am USA Eastern Time) –

SUO Challenge #153 – Black & White with a Pop of Color

7 / 19 / 167 / 18 / 16

Black and White as a design theme seems to come up a lot these days. While I’m sure we all revel in all the colors that Stampin’ Up! offers in its collections, it’s always fun to see a beautiful project made using just Black and White. We’re not going to go quite that far in this challenge, though. Your challenge this time is to create a Black and White project and add a pop of color for a delightfully artistic look.
