SUO Challenge 117, Cards for Teens – Our Top 3!

3 / 9 / 153 / 8 / 15

Thanks to everyone who participated in our challenge to feature a card made for a Teen. Thanks especially to our Top 3 whom we felt did the best job of capturing our theme for the week!  Click on the pictures of their projects to go to their blogs or galleries for more details.

Joanne James.  Joanne made this card using My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up! to create the image of the skateboarder, which she cut with an e-cutter.  The way she used the black and silver ink to make spatters before adhering the image to the card set this image off perfectly.

Tracey Vidal. We loved the use of the retired Sale-a-bration stamp set. This, along with the Gorgeous Grunge background and just the little spots of color in the button and Designer Series Paper make this a perfect card for a teen.

Mary Ann Rossiter (StampinMak). Mary Ann also used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set as a background for  her card.  The colors in the stamping resist Sale-a-bration paper from this year along with the coordinating balloon images bring this card together to make it special for a teen.

Kathe Deck.  This donut design for a greeting card is so sweet – how clever! The bite out of it along with the cute sprinkles are the perfect accents.

Lisa Walsh. Another clever design!  We love how each of the "stacked" boxes has its own pullout and "secret" message!

Donna Centamore (Butternut Sage). The quilling makes this beautiful card so very elegant.  We all want one!!

Michelle Long.  What a stunning card this is!  It's so much fun being taken back to the days when every Valentine had some lace on it!

Cindy Brumbaugh.  This is a beautifully made gift bag!  Everything about it coordinates so well.

Jenny Gauthier.  The black heart-dotted background just makes the bit of red in this card "pop."  And the hand stitching is just lovely!

SUO Challenge 114, the Dotty Challenge – Our Top 3!

1 / 27 / 15

Thanks to everyone who participated in our challenge to feature a project with Dots – of any kind!. Thanks especially to our Top 3 whom we felt did the best job of capturing our theme for the week!  Click on the pictures of their projects to go to their blogs or galleries for more details.

Marcee Rodgers.  What a beautiful Clean and Simple (CAS) card using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set for the dots of this challenge.  The colors that Marcee used, along with the Linen Thread and the sequins, did a great job of setting off the greeting as the focal point.

Chris Slogar.  We really liked Chris' take on the Bokeh effect that's currently very popular with crafters.  How clever to use the various sizes of punched circles to make the dots that are the feature of this challenge!

Linda Callahan.  We were so glad to see the Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Lotus Blossom, featured in one of our Top 3!  Linda cut out the main image and then accented it not only with the dots on the Designer Series Paper dots, but also with the textured front of the card.  What fun!
