SUO Challenge 94, Easter Time – Our Top 3!

4 / 21 / 144 / 21 / 14

Thanks to everyone who participated in our latest challenge. There are so many beautifully different ways that Stampin' Up! products can be used to make beautiful Easter projects – and we enjoyed seeing so many of them!

Thanks especially to our Top 3 whom we felt did the best job of capturing our theme for the week!  Click on the pictures of their projects to go to their blogs or galleries for more details.

Lisa Walsh.  This cross with the matching card is just stunning!   The vibrant color combination in the rose bouquet and Lisa's attention to details through this project make it a very special project!

Paula Sievers.  The soft coloring and beautifully done fussy cutting of the cute little images make this an absolutely darling card.  In fact, one of our design team members called this "the cutest darn Easter card EVAH!

Melissa Davies.  Who knew that the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set could contribute to such a lovely Easter card?!  The label across the front and the ribbon and the Boutique Detail decoration are the perfect accents.  Love this 3-D project!

SUO Challenge #94, It’s Easter Time!

4 / 8 / 144 / 7 / 14

Spring is here and Easter is on its way!! Your challenge this time is to make a card or other papercrafted project that features Easter.  Once you have your project done, post a photograph of it on your blog or in any other open online gallery, and then add a link to our Link Tool at the bottom of this post. If you have any questions about linking your project or problems in creating the link, be sure to let the challenge coordinator, Robin Messenheimer, know.  We cheerfully help crafters out just about every challenge, so don't be bashful about asking for help!

Of course we have guidelines and they are detailed at the left and summarized below,, including the dates that this challenge is open.

Please remember this is an SUO (Stampin' Up! Only) challenge.  Projects using non-SU! images, paper, embellishments, etc., will be removed.  We also ask that you do not have advertisements for products (e.g., classes and subscription services) in your post.  Please respect our criteria.

And now on to some inspiration from our talented design team for this week's challenge!

To participate in our challenge, make a card or other paper-crafted project and post a photo of it to your blog or a gallery on the internet.  Then come back here and use our link tool at the bottom of this post to share the photo with us.

PLEASE remember this:  We’re looking for projects posted to the internet AFTER April 7, 2014.  This is a NEW challenge!  AND please mention/link to the SUO Challenge Blog in your post!

And, of course, your projects should be made with Stampin’ Up! products only.    The products may be those that are in current catalogs, or they may be retired products.  But (as our blog title says) SUO – Stampin’ Up! Only!  This means that products from other papercrafting, rubber stamp, die-making or other companies may not be included in your project or in any other project included in your blog post if Stampin’ Up! sells a like product.  For example, Stampin’ Up! does not sell sewing thread.  So use of sewing thread from another company is just fine.  Stampin’ Up! does sell the Sizzix Big Shot, so use of die-cuts, texture plates or other such products from another company is not fine.  If you have a question, please send an e-mail to our Coordinator, Robin Messenheimer, and she’ll be glad to answer it!

Challenge Dates:  April 8, 2014  (3 am USA Eastern Time) –

April 19, 2014 (6 am USA Eastern Time)

SUO Challenges 92, Pinks & Purples – Our Top 3!

3 / 24 / 14

Thanks to everyone who participated in our latest challenge. There are so many beautifully different ways that Stampin' Up! Pink and Purples can be used – and we enjoyed seeing so many of them!

Thanks especially to our Top 3 whom we felt did the best job of capturing our theme for the week!  Click on the pictures of their projects to go to their blogs or galleries for more details.

Heather Van Looy.  This is such a soft and lovely card.  We love the way that Heather fussy cut another flower and added it to the outside of the design.  With this and the dry embossing of the top layer, there is such nice texture to this card!  The Sahara Sand is a beautiful neutral for this design, too.

Julia Quinn.  We really liked the lacy soft  touch to these bookmarks.  The "Viola's Lace" wheel design with these colors almost makes it look like real lace!

Stacey Ailes.  What soft vintage loveliness in this teabag holder.  The ribbon detail and the scattered pearls are the perfect accents.

SUO Challenges 91, Banner Fun – Our Top 3!!

3 / 10 / 143 / 10 / 14

Thanks to everyone who participated in our latest challenge. We all had fun with so many different kinds of banners that can be made with Stampin' Up! products!  Fun definitely is the word of the day today!

Thanks especially to our Top 3 whom we felt did the best job of capturing our theme for the week!  Click on the pictures of their projects to go to their blogs or galleries for more details.

Narelle Farrugia. There are so many great layers in this card!  We loved the fun angles that accented the color combo so beautifully.  The banners under the ribbon and all the other lovely finishing touches tied everything together perfectly!

Stacey Ailes. What a fun "clean and simple" (CAS) card!  We loved the use of the Designer Paper in the background and the black accenting the Pool Party throughout the card.  Did you notice the "extra" banners behind the birthday greeting?  Such fun!

Brenda Hofstatter. We love the way Brenda used the banner framelits for this fun birthday banner.  I think our favorite part of this was the use of all the little accents to make a little birthday girl so very happy!
