SUO Challenge 101 – Bows, Bows, Bows – Our Top 3

7 / 28 / 14

Thanks to everyone who participated in our challenge to feature bows in their projects – so many pretty ones!

Thanks especially to our Top 3 whom we felt did the best job of capturing our theme for the week!  Click on the pictures of their projects to go to their blogs or galleries for more details.

Chris Slogar. The colors and layout of this card make it very flexible – it could be so many different kinds of cards!  We especially liked the way that Chris made the double ribbon trim to complement the card's overall design.

Julia Quinn.  The pretty, soft colors of this gift card holder are beautifully accented with the vellum and the two different kinds of ribbon tied into bows!

Laurie (Stamping Up North). This card is a beautifully done classic design with lovely colors accented perfectly with the ribbon and bow.

SUO Challenge 101 – Bows, Bows, Bows!

7 / 15 / 147 / 25 / 14

While it's fun having a greeting card with only lovely layers, stamps and colors, it's usually even more fun to have a bit of embellishment.  For this challenge, we'd like you to show off how you use bows, using Stampin' Up! Ribbons, Twine or Thread – or even paper or cardstock! –  to make your greeting card or other paper crafted project extra special!  Once you have your project done, post a photograph of it on your blog or in any other open online gallery, and then add a link to our Link Tool at the bottom of this post. If you have any questions about linking your project or problems in creating the link, be sure to let the challenge coordinator, Robin Messenheimer, know.  We cheerfully help crafters out just about every challenge, so don't be bashful about asking for help!

If you need some inspiration to get you started, why not start with our talented Design Team's gallery!

To participate in our challenge, make a card or other paper-crafted project and post a photo of it to your blog or a gallery on the internet.  Then come back here and use our link tool at the bottom of this post to share the photo with us.

PLEASE remember this:  We’re looking for projects posted to the internet AFTER July 14, 2014.  This is a NEW challenge!  AND please mention/link to the SUO Challenge Blog in your post!

And, of course, your projects should be made with Stampin’ Up! products only.    The products may be those that are in current catalogs, or they may be retired products.  But (as our blog title says) SUO – Stampin’ Up! Only!  This means that products from other papercrafting, rubber stamp, die-making or other companies may not be included in your project or in any other project included in your blog post if Stampin’ Up! sells a like product.  For example, Stampin’ Up! does not sell sewing thread.  So use of sewing thread from another company is just fine.  Stampin’ Up! does sell the Sizzix Big Shot, so use of die-cuts, texture plates or other such products from another company is not fine.  If you have a question, please send an e-mail to our Coordinator, Robin Messenheimer, and she’ll be glad to answer it!

Challenge Dates:  July 15, 2014  (3 am USA Eastern Time) –

July 26, 2014 (6 am USA Eastern Time)

SUO Challenge 100, Celebrating our First 99 Challenges – Our Top 3!

7 / 14 / 147 / 14 / 14

Thanks to everyone who participated in our 100th Challenge by helping us celebrate our first 99 challenges!

Thanks especially to our Top 3 whom we felt did the best job of capturing our theme for the week!  Click on the pictures of their projects to go to their blogs or galleries for more details.

Heidi Weaver. Challenge #59, Fun or Unusual Folds.  Besides this delightful fold, Heidi's choice of color and stamps for this project make this a gorgeous card.

Nancy Littrell, Challenge. #25, Favorite New Stamp Set. We really enjoyed looking at all the details in this mixed media card.  We especially liked the rhinestone bling around the sun images to give them that extra sparkle.

Melissa Davies.  Challenge #25, Favorite New Stamp Set.  The crisp, clean and modern flair of this card definitely got our attention.  We love the white on white which really makes those colors pop.
