SUO Challenge 82, Harvest Time – Our Top 3!

11 / 4 / 1311 / 4 / 13

Thanks to everyone who participated in our latest challenge.  Fabulous projects to give us all a wide range of ideas for the season – as usual!

Thanks especially to our Top 3 whom we felt did the best job of capturing our theme for the week!

Margaret King (Margaret K). This beautiful CAS (Clean and Simple) card caught our eye with the circle with its sentiment and the lovely Crystal Effects dew drops.  The sponged leaves carry through the harvest theme as the focal point of this card.

Jennifer Kay (TX Jenny Wren).  The sponged leaves in the card create a beautiful depth to the whole picture.  And that background is just stunning in its artistry!

Paula Sievers.  Paula's stamping on her entire project is so well done.  And the card box is just the pefect accompaniment to this well-constructed project!

SUO Challenge #82 – Harvest Time!

10 / 22 / 1310 / 21 / 13

What a gorgeous time of the year!  The weather is changing so there's a bit of a chill in the air.  Leaves are colorful and apples abound in many of our cities and towns.  Corn mazes are amusing our children and grandchildren, and Farmers Markets abound with all kinds of products just in from the fields.

It's Harvest Time!  Well, it may be slightly different in different parts of the Stampin' Up! world.  But I'm sure we can all relate to this special time.

Harvest Time – that's your challenge this time at the SUO Challenge Blog:  Make a card or other paper crafted project that evokes the sense of Harvest Time!

The details of our guidelines are over at the left.  But I summarize them at the end of the post, including the dates that this challenge is open.  If you have any questions about linking your project or problems in creating the link, be sure to let the challenge coordinator, Robin Messenheimer, know.  We cheerfully help crafters out just about every challenge, so don't be bashful about asking for help!

And now for the entries from the ladies AND gentleman of our Design Team!

To participate in our challenge, make a card or other paper-crafted project and post a photo of it to your blog or a gallery on the internet.  Then come back here and use our link tool at the bottom of this post to share the photo with us.

PLEASE remember this:  We’re looking for projects posted to the internet AFTER September 23, 2013.  This is a NEW challenge!  AND please mention/link to the SUO Challenge Blog in your post!

And, of course, your projects should be made with Stampin’ Up! products only.    The products may be those that are in current catalogs, or they may be retired products.  But (as our blog title says) SUO – Stampin’ Up! Only!  This means that products from other papercrafting, rubber stamp, die-making or other companies may not be included in your project or in any other project included in your blog post if Stampin’ Up! sells a like product.  For example, Stampin’ Up! does not sell sewing thread.  So use of sewing thread from another company is just fine.  Stampin’ Up! does sell the Sizzix Big Shot, so use of die-cuts, texture plates or other such products from another company is not fine.  If you have a question, please send an e-mail to our Coordinator, Robin Messenheimer, and she’ll be glad to answer it!

Challenge Dates:  October 22, 2013  (3 am USA Eastern Time) –

November 2, 2013 (6 am USA Eastern Time)

SUO Challenge #81 – Make Something Masculine

10 / 8 / 1310 / 7 / 13

What do you think of when you think of a card or other paper crafting project that's "masculine"?  I wouldn't be at all surprised if your idea and mine might be somewhat different just because we all have such different tastes.  My first thought in writing this post was that not much of what we do can be considered masculine.  Yet I just went through our last few blog posts, looking both at our Design Team projects as well as those you have entered, and I think that there are quite a few that I would be happy to send to a man in my life!

So why not take ideas from both our team and you, and put them all together into one Stampin' Up! Only Challenge to make something masculine?!  That's your challenge for SU Only Challenge #81 and we can hardly wait to see all the ideas that come out of this!

SUO Challenge #80 – Welcome Baby!

9 / 24 / 1310 / 5 / 13

It's time for another Stampin' Up! Only Challenge, and this time the challenge is to make a card – or other paper crafted project! – for a baby.  Some of you may still have some Stampin' Up! fabric around, and making something with that would qualify for this challenge, too!
