SUO Challenge 99, It’s Summer Time – Our Top 3!

6 / 30 / 146 / 29 / 14

Thanks to everyone who participated in our latest challenge. It's been fun seeing what everything thinks of when they think, "Summer!"

Thanks especially to our Top 3 whom we felt did the best job of capturing our theme for the week!  Click on the pictures of their projects to go to their blogs or galleries for more details.

Julia QuinJulia Quinn. What a soft beach collage Julia created!  The colors and embellishments she used created a gorgeous depth and texture to this project.  The decorated inside of this card is the perfect finishing touch! Definitely a work of art!

Melissa Cochran (Crazy Paper Freak).  This is another beautiful collage.  The colors are so different, but the details are equally compelling.  The red color accenets and the coloring in of some of the background map really make this card pop.  All of the elements seemed to be arranged perfectly!

Joanne James (The Crafty Owl). We love the balance of this design, with the colors on the ship, as ween through the "porthole," beautifully catching the Island Indigo color of the background. The porthole is so much fun, too, as it catches the sense of the ship at sea.

Susie Nelson.  What a perfect background the map stamp makes for this ship image!  And we love the color combination and the way the color was applied to this background.  The sense of the sunset with the colors is perfect!

Lisa Young.  We were so impressed with the mixed media sense to this card, enhanced beautifully with the stamping in the background.  The color combination is stunning!

Elizabeth Gross  (Lilybet's Papers).  The background stamping on Elizabeth's card is another beautifully done collage style.  The colors are lovely the way they've been carried out throughout the card.

Krista Clark.  We just loved the bright colors and textures of these fun cupcakes in the Card in a Box!  Such fun for whoever gets this gorgeous card. Definitely yummy!

Lori Rider.  The cute touches in this box project are just darling.  The embossed acetate and the perfect stamp for this project are definitely delicious!

Leanne Pugliese. Such a sweet gift bag, with all those darling heart decorations to accent the other "Subtles" colors. We loved how Leanne wrapped the ribbon through the Chalk Talk Tag.  From the stitched top of the bag down to the last little heart, you've got to know something yummy is inside!

Laurie (Stamping Up North).  This card is so soft and serene  The heart so beautifully frames the paper and then the butterflies, flowers and leaves make an equally lovely frame for the heart!

Aimee Cretsinger.  We love all the colors in this project.  Those flowers look as if they were cut from a garden and put in those beautifully colored vases.  And that butterfly is such a sweet accent for the whole project.
